Daring! Our Alluring Culture-How It Affects You Personally

Alluring Culter

We live in alluring culture that breaks down your mental health.

Daring! Our alluring culture-how it affects you personally. The new buzz words are “self care”, “pivot”, “metaverse”, “NFT”, “AI”, “thought leadership”, “FOMO”, and these are just a few.

Do you realize that these are all designed to suck you into the fold of our culture and further into despair? Many people have a “FOMO” complex, or in other words “fear of missing out.” If you don’t know what something means, then you are put down because “you just don’t get it.”

Remember, Satan’s target is your mind and his weapon is lies. Could your thinking be influenced by Satan telling you you are just not good enough to think for yourself?

Why Should I Worry About Whether I “Get it” or Not?

Your response is probably because I don’t want to look stupid in front of my peers. So here comes the next question for you, why is that so important?

People want to fit in. It is in all of our natures. When we belong to a community, it’s important that we fit in. But at what cost do you try to fit in? Is it so important that you are willing to go against what you know in your heart to be true?

An alluring culture will always be just that. Alluring and compelling. It is rarely popular to go against the crowd. We want, no we believe, that we need to fit in.

What if Rosa Parks was Daring and Didn’t Stop to Think for Herself?

Today’s culture could be quite devastating and look quite differently. What if Frederick Douglass hadn’t of escaped freedom to be instrumental in ending slavery? How about Abraham Lincoln? Would he have been able to change the course of history by not going against what he believed and knew to be true? Speaking truth to yourself can change our world, just by knowing that you know better than what the culture around you may be telling you.

Do you know the culture during Abraham Lincoln’s day and age accepted the abominable practice of slavery. People actually were led to believe that this was normal…it was part of our “culture.” Absolute horse hockey! Thank God for Lincoln, Parks, and Douglass and the numerous others who fought to not be absorbed into their alluring culture and were able to speak truth to bullshit.

What do you Know in Your Heart to be True, but our Culture is telling you different?

Yes it is important to be a part of our society, but it is also true that being a good citizen means sometimes you have to go against our alluring culture and what it is telling you.

But how are you supposed to do that? You must have COURAGE and DARING. I’ve used this previously as my “word of the year.” Courage is supreme and can mean the difference for you in your every day life.

What if you were out at a party and knew you had to drive home later. Everyone was drinking and telling you to have a drink (or worse smoke pot or do drugs) to be a part of and go along with the group. There was peer pressure and many were calling you “square” or “standoffish”. You see misery loves company. What could happen if you started drinking and then drove home later?

Ask some of the mothers who have lost theirs sons to a drunk driver. Ask the little girl strapped into the back seat of a vehicle that just crashed and she lost her mother. I’m sure you’d get an answer that you would not like.

An Alluring Culture is Very Hard to Recognize

These days many people are buying electric cars because they are good for the environment. Did you know that this is NOT true? What if I told you that these cars require lithium, which requires a decidedly UNfriendly approach to climate through its mining process, and these batteries require cobalt, and the waste from mining this pollutes both the air and soil around it not to mention the human aspect of this mining.

Did you realize that there are some 200,000+ miners in a third world country, of which 25,000 of these are children and no safety measures put into place who are mining cobalt and lithium so that you can drive that expensive electric car. I haven’t even talked about what it takes to dispose of these batteries and the climate degradation of that waste. Source: https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-709631

The point of this article isn’t to debate the virtues or non-virtues of driving an EV. The point is to explain that if you are not paying attention and don’t go with what your gut is telling you, it is very possible that you may get sucked in.

If It Sounds Too Good to be True, It Probably Is

It is time to stop trying to fit into everything others are telling you, and start listening to your own instincts. After all, don’t you think if electric vehicles were the perfect solution to gas then the government would have already have stepped in and made it happen? Don’t you think that if it was ok to drink and drive there wouldn’t be laws against it and organizations fighting it?

The next time someone tries to give you advice, listen, think, and delve in more. Trust yourself and even more than that believe in yourself and in God.

God is the answer to your mental health. Jesus is here waiting, but you have to get to know Him, and in order to do that, you must read the Bible each and every day so that you can develop a relationship with Him.

Understand that God is the Answer to Our Alluring Culture and its Degradation

The difference between being a Christian and a non-Christian is saltiness. Christians are “salt of the earth.” I’m going to let you research this further. You might be surprised at the meaning.

The world must see that Jesus Christ makes THE difference in our lives. Not self-care and certainly NOT idols such as Buddha, which is a cult. We don’t bat an eye and we don’t back down. We stand with our convictions and God will stand with us. If God is with us, who then can be against us. Romans 8:31

Did you know that the American Christians are the richest of all and most prosperous they’ve ever been, but you do not hear about them. Why? Because this culture is working hard to turn people’s attitude against them; meanwhile, these Christians are grouping up in many different ways and doing business together and basically going around our alluring culture. They are “salty”, and they are working for the Lord. Their mental health is strong, and they are wise.
