No More Jonah Moves. Time To Stop Running From Your Calling.
Let’s get real for a second…
Have you ever looked around and thought,
“Everyone else is moving forward while I’m over here… waiting for the perfect moment that still hasn’t shown up?”
Girl. Same.
There were YEARS when I honestly believed God must’ve made a mistake choosing me for any kind of purpose. Like, “Are You sure, Lord? You want ME to do what? Have You seen my track record??”
My inner voice would whisper:
“You’re not good enough.”
And I listened. I obeyed that lie more faithfully than I obeyed God. 😬
Then one day while I’m praying like, he basically nudged me like:
“I’m trying to talk to you, but you’ve been hiding behind those ‘not enough’ excuses.”
Ouch. Not fully understanding, I instinctively knew that this one hit different because God was the One calling me out.
And suddenly I realized something:
That broken belief wasn’t humility,
no it was actually disobedience.
I was actually sinning when I was putting myself down.
Like Jonah. Oh yes, I said it.
Running from what God asked you to do…
Grace, are you waiting for the whale?
Because friend those big ol’ fish are still swimming out there. 🐋
Now, I don’t think you’re intentionally avoiding your calling.
I think… like me… you’re believing lies that feel true.
So today, we’re calling those lies OUT.
You + Jesus + the Truth = unstoppable.

Here are 4 sneaky limiting beliefs that keep you stuck in “someday” instead of stepping into your God-designed destiny:
Lie #1: “I don’t have what it takes.”
You get the idea. You get excited. You even buy the planner.
…And then suddenly folding laundry feels like a spiritual assignment of the highest order. 🧺
But here’s the thing, Psalm 139:14 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a handcrafted creation, not a clearance rack mistake.
➡️ Truth Move:
Stop running from your calling and Do ONE tiny thing today that brave-you would do.
(Make a phone call. Sign up for the course. Post the idea.)
Take the step because God provides the courage as you move.
Lie #2: “I’m not worthy.”
This one is quiet, sneaky… and toxic.
It translates into:
• settling for less
• saying “I’m fine” when you’re not
• apologizing for having dreams bigger than your comfort zone
But sweet friend your worth was settled on the cross.
Full stop. Period. Nothing to add.
➡️ Truth Move:
Stop running from your calling and Say it out loud:
“I am chosen and cherished by God.”
(And nope your cat doesn’t count as your only hype squad.)
Lie #3: “I don’t have time.”
Ah yes… the anthem of modern, exhausted Christian women.

We set our God-dreams aside while we answer every notification, scroll through everyone else living theirs, and then whisper:
“Maybe later…”
Grace, if the enemy can’t destroy you,
he’ll just make you busy.
➡️ Truth Move:
Stop running from your calling and give God 15 minutes of intentional time today.
That’s it.
The world won’t crumble. Promise.
And if it does, Jesus is coming back anyway. So… win-win?
Lie #4: “Why try? I always fail.”
This lie loves to parade around waving your past like a flag:
Failures.
Setbacks.
Times you tried and it didn’t work…
It builds the case perfectly until you remember:
God doesn’t call the successful.
He calls the surrendered.
➡️ Truth Move:
Stop running from your calling and instead of asking “What if I fail?”
ask: “What if God changes the story this time?”
Because He can. And I believe He will.
Okay Grace… deep breath:
God did not create you to live a lukewarm, “fine, I guess,” halfway life.
You are:
🔥 Capable
🔥 Called
🔥 Courageous
🔥 Equipped in Christ
And He put those dreams in you
because He plans to fulfill them.
But you have to stop letting those lies narrate your story.
So here’s your challenge today:
✍️ Write down the lie you’ve been believing
✍️ Cross it out
✍️ Replace it with God’s truth
You’re rewriting your mindset one belief at a time.
And if you want help digging deeper into this transformation and really planting your life in good soil…

Let’s kick those lies out and step into your calling TODAY.
No more “someday.”
Closing Prayer
Jesus, thank You for creating me with purpose, passion, and a calling only I can fulfill. Help me to stop running from my calling and recognize the lies holding me back and replace each one with Your truth. Give me the courage of obedience—not the comfort of delay. I trust You with the next step, and the next one after that. Help me stop running and start following faithfully. In Your powerful name, amen.
