Mindfulness -Not Mnemonics -True Meaning Affects Your Spirit

The term mindfulness is thrown around a lot in today’s world, but what does it really mean?

Mindfulness -not mnemonics -true meaning of mindfulness. I’ve always thought the meaning of mindfulness is to be mindful, or for me that meant to keep it in mind.

Well not exactly. That is actually not what it means. And in case you are wondering, it is NOT a yoga term or a buddha term or any other cult idol such as that.

Presence of Heart

John Kabat-Zinn has a short video here in which he describes mindfulness, which I think is very important to the focus of this weblog. We will never be able to get past our mental health issues until we start focusing on training our brain in the direction we want it to go.

The Importance of Mindfulness

There are 65 versus in the Bible dedicated to mindfulness. That’s a lot of information. You’ll want to check some of these out here.

When you look and really read the definition Jon Kabat-Zinn has of mindfulness (this is in the header here), then you can truly begin to understand how important it is to be mindful. It brings peace. It brings happiness, and it calms your spirit.

Below is a brilliant video by Denzel Washington. This is a perfect illustration of how to be mindful and intentional in the development of your thoughts.

Spend time watching this over and over. It has contributed to changing my thinking and changing my life. Don’t just aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference. Denzel Washington
